My progress has stagnated lately on the things I would like to be working on. My Ableton trial has once again expired. Here are some scraps from December, pertaining to experiments with generative drum textures and resampling. I have later versions of this in progress, I just haven't recorded any of it yet. I will write on this in more detail soon! I really want to! I am just tired.

I am so so so unhappy with the thought of doing anything at less than 110%, that when I don't have the energy and ability to do things that way, I don't do anything. I am an intensely high-effort but also paradoxically lazy individual. I hope this upcoming, lighter semester will rejuvenate my energy.

I have a Megamind-esque voice in my head that yells "presentation!" all the time. I also take pride in the fact that I do it all myself. While collaborating with other people is great, I think there's a "purity" to having a singular artistic vision at every level of the process. That isn't necessarily the superior way to be an artist, but I find great personal fulfillment in maintaining and cultivating a coherent identity around my work that is solely mine. CATWIZARD is my project. It isn't any one thing; it is anything and everything I do. It may very well continue to be my life's work. We'll see!
